Hi! My name is Kathryn and I am a third year Elementry Education Major. I have particpated on two study aways within the country and 1 study abroad in Argentina. I want to teach kindergarden, but I could also see myself in the wildlife field. When I was looking at colleges I SWORE I would not go to uga and I am forever greatful I did. I am so excited to share my story with you and answer all questions. I can't wait to show you around the best college town in the world.

Describe your college experience

I struggled at first coming to college, after only living in one house my whole life trasnitioning to a big school was overwhelming. I learned quickly that bigger is better because you are here for the long haul. I learn new things about athens every day and love it. I can know proudly say I know what a 1st down is, and where some of the best burgers are. I have made some of my best friends and have never once felt like there was nothing to do. Theres a reason both the school and the town are rated so high.

Tip for future students

Set a list of goals before you come to college of what exactly you want out of it. It can be as simple as a degree or have 100 bullet points, college is different for every person, and it wont be perfect right away, so it is important to remeber why you are here and what you want!

Favorite class

WILD 4110L- this was a lab where we got to go into the field and practice real tracking and tagging skills. I learned how to use raido telemetry to locate a signal, caught turtles, and so much more.

Career goals

I want to travel as much as I can and work in education positions around the world. Then come home and be a kindergarten teacher.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Having a movie night and going on a sunset walk down milly with my friends!

Favorite spot on campus

The Warnell Turtle Pond!! It is the best place to take a second and relax in between classes. The trutles will come right up to you and say hello of they aren't sunbathing!
