Friendly and passionate psychology major
Hi! I go by Charlie, I’m a second-year psychology and brain sciences major at UCSB. I love my campus community, especially the beautiful beach and natural spaces. I love listening to music, watching horror movies, and trying new food spots in IV with my friends. This year, I’m an events coordinator for the Environmental Affairs Board, and I’m excited to bring the community together and educate others about environmental issues.

Describe your college experience
I decided to go to UCSB as a freshman after taking a campus tour my junior year of high school and being impressed by the beautiful campus and kind people. I was so excited to live in a dorm and go to university, and I really love it so far. Most of my professors have been great, and I have gotten to be involved in some organizations on campus, which has been very fun.
Tip for future students
I would recommend trying out many things your freshman year- there are a variety of organizations, intramural sports, and other activities on campus. I love to dance, and I decided to try a hip-hop class for the first time through Gaucho Rec, and I really enjoyed it.
Favorite class
My favorite class was French because of the amazing professor, Dr. Moak. He was very kind and funny, and he taught a small class so he was able to get to know me and the other students on a more personal level. I appreciated how open he was to questions and conversations, and I wish I could take his class all over again.
Career goals
I would like to work in the psychology field, either at a university, school, or laboratory. I would love to attend a hands-on grad program after I finish undergrad.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love having a night in with my loved ones. My ideal one would be pizza, snacks, and a spooky movie.
High school or secondary school

Favorite spot on campus
I love the beach, of course! It is the perfect place to relax, swim, or spend time with friends. I love going there and watching the beautiful sunsets.
