Describe your college experience
I transferred to UCSB two years ago after completing one year at SJCC. I added my applied psychology minor at the end of my first year at UCSB and then added my second major, language, culture, and society, at the beginning of this past school year. I have taken a variety of courses from our sociology, linguistics, education, and counseling, clinical, and school psychology departments. Aside from that, I was also involved in our Vietnamese Student Association in the past two years.
Tip for future students
Try new things! You will never know what may or may not work unless you put yourself out there. Take advantage of all the resources and opportunities your school has to offer. Reach out to your advisors, professors, TAs, anyone who has been at the school for a year or two to help introduce you to things.
Favorite class
LING 148AA - Onsite Introductory Practicum for TESOL I enjoyed this class because we were able to get hands-on experience observing TESOL courses at a local school. In addition to this, I learned many things about lesson preparations and interpersonal skills that I was able to use outside of the classroom.
Career goals
After college I plan to move back home and find work in social services or education. I also hope to take a year or two before I look into teaching English abroad.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love spending time with my friends, whether it be a movie night, trying a new food/dessert spot, doing little crafts, or having a bonfire.

Favorite spot on campus
I love being anywhere outside on campus because there are so many different plants and beautiful greenery. I specifically enjoy being outside of Phelps Hall.
