Hey there! My name is Lily and I am currently a sophomore at UGA. I’m currently an advertising major with a communication studies minor and I take classes inside of Grady college. I am from Monroe, Georgia, which is about 40 minutes from Athens and I thought that I would hate being so close to home but UGA is a bubble of its own community and I absolutely have loved second here.

Describe your college experience

I have absolutely loved my transition to college! UGA is a great school and there’s so many resources to help me both in the classroom and outside of the classroom. The atmosphere and community is great and the school makes me excited about learning and going into class.

Tip for future students

For future students, I would just say be yourself and don’t be afraid to talk to people. When you start college, everyone else is going through the same thing you are so don’t be afraid to start a conversation with someone or try something new.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been my first year seminar my freshman year. I got to learn about ways to volunteer and serve in the Athens community, and I loved my professor!

Career goals

I hope to be working in a well paying job that I enjoy and that makes me excited about going to work.

Ideal way to spend a free night

A free night for me would probably include watching a movie with friends going to get ice cream and just hanging out with my friends and laughing and having a good time together.

My favorite spot on campus is probably north campus. It’s just very picturesque and I love going to the main library to study.
