I am a fourth-year Sociology student minoring in Film and Media who loves meeting with people and helping others feel welcome. Throughout my time in college, I have been actively involved in student organizations, leadership roles, and campus events which allowed me to build strong communication skills and professionalism. I enjoy sharing what makes college life special from academics and student involvement to the traditions and hidden gems around campus. Describe your college experience

My transition to college was rough due to attending a small charter high school school that had limited resources and not a lot of navigation on how to transition from high school to college. The first year was a trial run for me where I had to figure out everything on my own and did not have much support from others. However, UCLA provided me with a lot of resources to reach out to and I leaned more on support given to me and it made it easier to navigate and adjust to college life. I understood that this experience was only going to make a positive impact on me and help me develop new skills and learn new experiences throughout college.

Tip for future students

Some tips for future students is to put yourself out there and try new things. College is full of opportunities given to you in a short amount of your lifetime, you can learn more about yourself and gain more experiences by trying new things in college. Joining clubs, meeting new people, going to events, trying new things you never would've thought of would result in new experiences and things you will passionately love.

Favorite class

My favorite class had to be Issues in Human Physiology: Diet and Exercise because it was an interesting class because I had to do a lot of self-examination on my diet and how it positively and negatively impacts me. It definitely made me understand my body a little bit more and how crucial diet and exercise plays a role in my life. I found the material interesting and useful for everyday life by weighing myself​/​BMI, eating certain foods, exercising, examining my vitamins, deficiency, etc. It made me want to do better for my body.

Career goals

After college I hope to do marketing for a professional sports team or work as a sports manager to learn more about the behind the scenes and capture the scenes played out in the team. I do love social media, photography, and sports and combining all these together can create a passion and a job in working in the sports industry in the future.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is to go on a late night drive and spend the night looking at the sunset and just enjoying the ocean views.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite place on campus is Janss steps because it is a big grass area where I can lay down or take a nap. I love it because I can enjoy the beautiful view overseeing the soccer field and campus alongside the sunset and the beautiful trees. It makes me feel so relaxed and it is a good way to destress and practice self care.
