Describe your college experience
I have had an amazing college experience so far. My freshman year I was a commuter student and still found so many ways to stay involved in campus life with clubs, I also had such an easy time meeting people I clicked with due to common interests that have become my closest friends. My sophomore year has been even better with living on campus and being constantly connected with campus life and being neighbors with all my best friends!
Tip for future students
Don't stress if you don't know what you want to study! Changing majors is a totally normal thing to do and super easy as well. When I entered college as a freshman I was undeclared with an emphasis in Kinesiology and after taking the prerequisite classes I decided it was not for me. Switching was a super easy and such a relief!
Favorite class
My favorite class that I have taken here at the U is definitely SMGT 3501: Sports and Physical Activity in a Diverse Society with Dr. Michael Navarre. At the U students must take a series of liberal education requirements, one of the being a race, power, and justice class. This course counts for that credit and is such a fun class while learning about the inequalities that exist within sports. Dr. Navarre is also an amazing professor and a very funny guy! I have had an amazing time in the course.
Career goals
After college I hope to attend graduate school to get my Masters in Public Health Policy Administration and I hope to do it abroad.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Best way to spend a free night is definitely a cozy night in with my friends. Dinner, a movie and some warm hot chocolate while we debrief our weeks is the only way I spend my free nights!
High school or secondary school
I attended Apple Valley Senior High School in Apple Valley, Minnesota.
