Hey! My name is Erik and I am a senior undergrad on track to graduate from Michigan State University class of 2027 (May grad). Although it's my 4th year, I have spent every year basically on campus. Having my apartment so close to campus has allowed me to be on campus and discover more of the university than I ever would have, which is great for educating all the potential incoming students and helping them decide whether this school is the right fit for them. My major is Economics BA (Bachelor of Arts). It is more comprehension, written work, and creating​/​reading graphs and charts. As opposed to the Economics BS (Bachelor of Science) which is more analytical and quantitative derived. I am minoring in Philosophy and Law, as well as studying for the LSAT as I want to attend law school. When I am not focused on Economics, I love being outside. Whether it is running, rec sports, fishing, or even just going for walks. The athletic events on campus are another thing that are tons of fun and make your MSU experience unique. I have been to football, basketball, soccer, and baseball games so far (and there are many more). When you have questions about dorms, studying, where to live on or off campus, what to do for fun, how to meet people, where to participate, underrated or overrated things on campus, tips, tricks, etc. I am your guy! Describe your college experience

Tons of freedom and opportunities, and happy with the people I have met that I just would I have never met if I stayed in my hometown. Responsibilities​/​tasks that you don't even think showing up is another thing I thought of​/​realized.

Tip for future students

There's no right or wrong way to go about college, and don't let people peer pressure you into thinking otherwise. I have memorable moments from early morning study sessions and coffee at the union, memories from mid day classes​/​labs​/​and the gym with friends, and memories of going and tailgating all day, then going into the stadium to watch the football team play at night. There is no right time and place to have fun or make memories, its just great being at MSU.

Favorite class

EC 201 & EC 202. My teacher, Professor Ackermann (Jeff Ackermann), made learning about economics fun, simple, and easy to visualize. I learned so many core concepts and confirmed that I wanted to continue pursuing economics.

Career goals

Move somewhere where I can enjoy the outdoors, and help the people in my community whether in financial advising, or whatever other ventures I get into.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Study and catch up with everything that needs to get done so I don't have to worry about it later on. Then go workout at the MSU gym or gym at my apartment. Finally, meet up with a couple of my friends and maybe go to Bdubs, El Az, or somewhere to watch sports, and then be home not too late and get ready for the next day.

Favorite spot on campus

STEM Building, Olds Hall, or the Union. The Union and STEM have combo stations that are great for grabbing some energy and studying for a while in a nice spot. On the other hand, I love the old architecture of Olds Hall.
