Economics Major, Greek Life Leader & Transfer Student at UT Austin
Hi! I'm Kazmier, a Junior studying Economics with a minor in Business, Government, and Society at UT Austin. I transferred here after my freshman year, and since then, I've gotten heavily involved in campus life, particularly as the VP of Recruitment for my fraternity and through various finance organizations. I'm passionate about wealth management, hiking, and helping new Longhorns find their perfect place on our massive campus!

Describe your college experience
As a transfer student, my transition to UT Austin was incredibly exciting but required me to actively step out of my comfort zone. Getting involved in Greek life and professional finance organizations quickly gave me a strong community and incredible leadership opportunities. UT is massive, but finding your specific niche makes it feel like a true home.
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and join clubs or organizations immediately. Because the university is so large, proactively finding smaller communities is the absolute best way to thrive, make friends, and build a strong support network.
Favorite class
ECO 420K. It challenged me analytically and provided a fantastic, rigorous foundation for my career goals in wealth management and financial planning.
Career goals
I plan to become a Wealth Advisor in the financial services industry, helping clients achieve long-term security through strategic portfolio allocation and comprehensive financial planning.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal free night involves getting a good workout in at the gym or exploring some of the great hiking trails around Austin, followed by hanging out with my fraternity brothers or trying out new local food spots.
High school or secondary school
Odyssey Academy, Galveston, TX
Previous college
University of Texas at Tyler. The transfer experience taught me resilience and adaptability. Going from a smaller school to UT Austin, I learned how to proactively seek out resources, make new friends quickly, and confidently integrate into a brand new, much larger campus culture.
