Easy going but dedicated dual major who knows how to study and still have fun.
Hello, I am Ryan Knaebel, a History and Economics dual major working toward law school. I transferred to MSU after family situations and quickly found myself calling it home. The range of our large student body with all the clubs and events that are held, the sporting events, the easy chain restaurants or beloved mom and pop shops, and the wonderful teachers have made me proud to be a Spartan. A good chunk of my time is spent in the library, in tutor sessions, walking through Sanford or reading at home. I pop in and out of clubs like chess, book, anime, business law, history, and criminal justice. My favorite part about East Lansing is that it is a diverse place with the possibilities to wake up early and study at a coffee shop then do yoga in a park, tailgate and go to a basketball/football game, or get a nice dinner before hitting a bar or some parties, or even all three. I am happy to show and tell you about the good and bad, as well as answer any questions. There is a lot to university, especially at MSU, so I look forward to helping people through a tense time and making tough decisions a little easier.

Describe your college experience
My transition to college saw some bumps in decision making and financial security but I have pushed myself through it and stayed disciplined enough to learn more about myself and grow into the person I am today.
Tip for future students
Make sure you know the financial risk and have a plan. Be real with yourself about your friendships and ability to make new ones. Understand the mental fortitude you will need.
Favorite class
Ethics because it created real hard hitting conversations that have helped me in life.
Career goals
I hope to attend Law school after my bachelor’s and then find a job in Chicago
Ideal way to spend a free night
If with friends we are probably watching a sporting event then hitting some bars and/or a house party. If alone I will likely walk around the city and visit some shops, get a bite to eat with my friends, then head home to read a book and make sure I am all set for school.
