Driven Supply Chain Management Major with a love for all things nature.

Greetings! My name is Johnny, and it would be my privilege to show you around campus. I love all things outdoors, especially long bike rides, salmon fishing, and anything involving the water. I also really enjoy meeting new people, striking up conversations with new acquaintances, and catching up with old friends. On campus, you can usually find me biking from class to class, going to the gym, or spending time with good people. MSU makes biking around campus incredibly accessible, and it has become one of my favorite parts of each day. Even if I am not looking forward to an exam, I can at least look forward to the bike ride there and back. MSU has been the best college for me, and I would love the opportunity to show you what makes it such a special place—and why it might be the best college for you, too.

Clubs, organizations & involvement

Throughout my time at Michigan State University, I have been involved in several clubs and organizations, including the Fishing Club and Judo Club. This fall, I also plan to rush Delta Sigma Pi, MSU’s professional business fraternity. Each of these organizations has given me the opportunity to meet new people, build meaningful connections, and gain experiences that have helped me grow both personally and academically.

Describe your college experience

My transition to college was a winding road with plenty of Michigan potholes along the way. While adjusting to university life came with challenges, those experiences helped me learn more about myself, become more independent, and grow both personally and academically. Throughout my time at Michigan State University, I have come to appreciate not only the successes, but also the obstacles that have shaped my journey and made my college experience meaningful.

Tip for future students

Keep your goals in mind and have a solid sense of direction, but don’t forget to enjoy the journey along the way. Some students take college one day at a time, while others try to have every step planned out from the beginning. I think the best approach is somewhere in the middle. Have a trajectory and work toward your goals, but stay open to unexpected opportunities, new experiences, and paths you may not have originally considered. College does not have to be so black and white; sometimes the experiences you never planned for are the ones that help you grow the most.

Favorite class

My favorite class by far has been my ISB 208 lab, it was such an amazing group of people that were so fun to chat with and solve problems alongside. That lab to me was the embodiment of what it means to be a spartan, work hard and have fun while you are doing it.

Career goals

I am currently taking my own advice by maintaining a clear trajectory without committing to one set destination. I plan to graduate with a degree in Supply Chain Management, but I am still exploring the different career paths available within the field. I recently completed a corporate internship at Flexco as a Supply Chain Planning Intern, which gave me valuable hands-on experience and helped me better understand my interests. Looking ahead, I hope to secure either an entry-level consulting internship for summer 2027 or a more advanced supply chain internship with a company such as Amazon, Boeing, or Medtronic. Ultimately, I want to continue challenging myself, gaining experience, and discovering where my skills and interests can take me.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal free night usually involves spending time with friends and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere. I love hosting people at my place, whether that means having a movie night, playing a few games of Spikeball in the living room, or just listening to music and catching up with the guys. At the same time, I am always up for going out with friends or keeping things low-key with a productive Friday night at the gym followed by a walk downtown to grab some Raising Cane’s. For me, the best nights are simply about enjoying good company and making the most of the time I have.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the Edward J. Minskoff Pavilion, located within the Eli Broad College of Business. It brings together everything I enjoy about Michigan State University: the people, the open and welcoming space, and the connection to nature. Whether I am studying, meeting with friends, or simply taking a break between classes, the Minskoff Pavilion is a place where I feel comfortable, focused, and connected to campus.
