Describe your college experience
My transition to college has looked a little different than most. I left the Army after serving for 9 years. Being older than most of my peers has been difficult. But nonetheless, I have made many friends while at FSU. There are clubs and groups for people from all walks of life here at FSU. My professors have all been friendly and there to assist with any questions that I had.
Tip for future students
I think that it is important to find a good school/social life balance. I have seen a lot of students focus too much on one or the other. FSU has endless opportunities when it comes to social life. From greek life, to organizations, to restaurants and bars/clubs, there is something for everyone. Just make sure to not neglect your schoolwork and find the right balance.
Favorite class
My favorite class in undergrad was Comparative Criminology with Dr. Piatkowska. In this class we learned about different law enforcement agencies around the world and compared them to how law enforcement in the United States operates. I have taken a couple classes with Dr. Piatkowska, she is definitely my favorite professor at FSU!
Career goals
After my Graduate program, I am hoping to find a job analyzing crime data. I like to research the why behind crime and help create crime control polices that will combat these issues.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is either relaxing/building Legos at home or trying new restaurants around town with friends.

Previous college
I transferred from Tallahassee State College between my sophomore and junior years. The transition process went smooth, as TSC has a pathway program designed specifically for students that are planning on transferring to FSU. Transfer student orientation at FSU helped me learn more about my program and what classes I needed to register for in the upcoming semester.
