Criminology & Psychology junior at FSU
Hi! My name is Ally and I’m a junior at Florida State University double majoring in Criminology and Psychology. I lived on campus for my first two years, where I was involved in Hall Council, so I’m very familiar with dorm life and campus involvement. This year I’m living off campus, which has given me experience with both sides of student living at FSU. I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in some criminology research during my time at FSU, which has been a really interesting part of my academic experience. In my free time, I love spending time with my dog, relaxing, and watching TV. I’m excited to help give you a feel for campus life and answer any questions you might have about FSU!

Describe your college experience
My transition to college was somewhat difficult, especially having to leave my family and my twin brother. However, as I spent more time getting to know myself (e.g., how I like to socialize and the ways I study best), I gradually adjusted, and college began to feel like a positive and rewarding experience.
Tip for future students
Separate your comfort spaces (like your bed or dorm) from your study spaces (such as the library or student union). Keeping these environments separate helps you relax when you’re in your personal space and stay focused when you’re in study areas, preventing your place of rest from becoming associated with stress.
Favorite class
My favorite class was a sociology class with Professor Sunshine. I am a big advocate that a teacher can make or break a class
Career goals
After undergrad, I plan on pursuing further education
Ideal way to spend a free night
On a free night, I love to relax in my room with a movie on.

If you’re looking for a Florida State tour guide, I cannot recommend her enough! She went above and beyond to make our visit special. She came incredibly prepared, knew the history of FSU inside and out, and answered every question with confidence and enthusiasm. What really stood out was the extra effort she put in for my daughter. She had taken the time to print information specifically related to my daughter’s intended major, which made the tour feel personalized and thoughtful. She wasn’t just reciting facts—she genuinely cared about helping my daughter picture herself at FSU. She was warm, knowledgeable, engaging, and made my daughter feel completely comfortable from the very beginning. That personal connection made all the difference. If you’re considering booking a college tour, do yourself a favor and request her if you can. Her professionalism, preparation, and passion for FSU turned what could have been an ordinary campus visit into an unforgettable experience. She is exactly the kind of person every prospective student hopes to meet!
