Computer Science B.S. Senior - Residential Assistant & Research Lab Employee
Hi, my name is Kaleb Kasparian. I transferred to UCSC as a junior after graduating community college with three associates degrees. These include Computer Science, Math, and Math & Science. I then started as a research employee during my winter quarter. Then started as a residential assistant in the following spring. I enjoy hiking around campus, and studying in the different libraries with peers. My favorite part of campus is all of the wildlife, and the special views around campus.

Describe your college experience
My transition to college was incredible. I was living on my own for the first time, and figuring out how to be a responsible adult. I learned how to be self sufficient, budgeting and saving money.
Tip for future students
Make every minute of your college experience count and cherish it. 4 years may seem like a long time, but it will fly by much quicker than high school ever did. It’s a special time, and an incredible place to meet genius, kind, and talented individuals. Go out of your way and try to interact with those that you might not normally.
Favorite class
My favorite class was differential equations because I have a strong math background.
Career goals
I hope to continue working with green energy and sustainable systems. I would enjoy working on projects targeting eliminating carbon emissions from data centers. This is the focus of one of the research labs I am participating in.
Ideal way to spend a free night
The best way to spend a free night for me, is hanging out with my friends and my fiancee camping under the stars in the forest. Can’t forget a nice campfire to stay warm and cozy.
