Hello, my name is Keren Pulido. I am a senior at the University of Central Florida majoring in Political Science. I have been a student at UCF going on two years now. I have really enjoyed being part of the campus community. During my time here, I have become involved in several leadership and service opportunities that have helped me grow both personally and professionally. I am excited about the opportunity to serve as a campus tour guide because I enjoy meeting new people, sharing my experiences, and helping prospective students feel welcomed as they explore everything UCF has to offer.

Describe your college experience

Being in my final year of my undergraduate program, I can say that college has truly been a roller coaster experience, but in the best way possible. At times, college can feel like an uphill battle, but finding a degree program that you are passionate about and surrounding yourself with friends who support you along the way can make the journey much more manageable. Classes can be challenging, but that is also what makes the experience so rewarding. They push you beyond your comfort zone, encourage you to grow, and introduce you to ideas you may have never encountered before. When you finally reach that breakthrough moment and gain a deeper understanding of a difficult concept, the sense of accomplishment is incredibly fulfilling. Those moments inspire you to continue learning, growing, and pursuing new challenges throughout your academic journey.

Tip for future students

I would recommend that all students get involved on campus in any way they can, whether that means joining clubs, participating in religious organizations, or taking part in additional activities such as internships or on-campus jobs. Getting involved is a great way to build connections, explore new interests, and make the most of the college experience. Additionally, I encourage students to find their friend group, as those relationships can become an important support system throughout their academic journey. I also recommend joining study groups, as they provide an opportunity to collaborate with classmates, work through challenges together, and gain a better understanding of course material. Most importantly, do not forget to have fun! Attend campus events, sporting events, support your fellow Knights, embrace the UCF community, and take pride in being part of Knight Nation.

Favorite class

My American Constitutional Law course has been my favorite class throughout my time at UCF. It has also been the most challenging, but without a doubt the most rewarding. I have enjoyed learning about the landmark cases and legal precedents that have shaped our nation's history and continue to influence our government today. It has been especially meaningful to see how constitutional law evolves to protect individual rights, resolve complex legal issues, and uphold the principles of justice for the American people.

Career goals

After graduating from college, I hope to begin my career in public service by working in politics, ideally as a legislative or district aide at the local, state, or federal level. I want to gain firsthand experience in the legislative process and public policy while developing the skills needed to serve effectively in government. After gaining some years of professional experience, I plan to attend law school, where I hope to study constitutional law. Ultimately, my goal is to become a U.S. Attorney and use the law to uphold justice and serve the public.

Ideal way to spend a free night

The ideal way for me to spend an evening is gathered with my church community at a worship night or conference. I love growing in my faith while also building meaningful relationships with others who share my values. Those experiences encourage me, strengthen my relationship with God, and remind me of the importance of living in community.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the John C. Hitt Library. It is a beautiful facility with four floors and many resources available to support students’ academic success. The library also has an in-house coffee shop, making it a great place to study and relax. During the summer, it is open until 11:00 p.m., and throughout the year, its hours are often extended during midterms and finals.
