Bubbly journalism and mass communication senior who has LOVED her time at Iowa!
Hi!! I’m Jori, I’m a fourth-year Journalism and Mass Communication major on the Strategic Communication track. My friends would describe me as very bubbly, free-spirited, and driven. I’ve been involved with numerous organizations, including greek life, student leadership, and have had multiple internships during my time on campus. You can typically find me at a locally owned thrift store on campus with an iced coffee in one hand and a camera bag in the other. I love taking photos, exploring, and spending time with my AMAZING roommates. I am born and raised in Iowa so I have so much love for this campus, community, and state - GO HAWKS! Feel free to reach out with absolutely any questions and I can’t wait to meet you!

Describe your college experience
I’ve had the most amazing college experience. I’ve gone through many hardships and regardless of them I’ve always felt at home here in Iowa City. My transition was very easy because I’m so independent. I also had an amazing freshman year roommate who I’ve lived with all of school and that really helped.
Tip for future students
My tips for future students is to cherish every moment. College goes by so fast and it’s important to stay present and grounded. On top of that, I also encourage students to find their passion and explore it. Try a different major or minor if you don’t love the one you’re in, take fun classes, join a club; just say yes to everything until you find what you love to do!
Favorite class
My favorite class has been the Adler Agency here at Iowa. It’s a student run agency where we take on real clients around Iowa city and help them revamp their brand. Ive been in it for 3 semesters now and have been promoted to the business development team. Working with real people and seeing real results has taught me so much more than sitting in a classroom has.
Career goals
I would love to work in Chicago after graduation for an ad agency or doing photojournalism!
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal night in Iowa city is wrapping up class and heading home to my apartment, getting ready with my roommates and going out to dinner to one of our many favorite restaurants on campus. Then, grabbing a sweet treat, walking around campus, and finding an activity that’s going on that night like live music, movies in the park, or trivia/bingo.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot on campus is the Adler building where most of my classes are. But I also love walking over to goosetown next to campus. There are so many amazing shops, restaurants, cafes, and spots to hangout with friends.
