Hi! I’m maria a pre-communications major, I enjoy walking, exploring, and learning new things. I plan on possibly including a minor and helping people learn why ucsb might be the right school for them. I’m from sacramento which is pretty far than where most people come from but I wanted to explore a city far away after doing well in highschool.

Describe your college experience

Seeing as I am a upcoming freshman my experience has not been vast, but with the two times I have been to ucsb I have loved the campus and the weather, knowing I can study on the beach or always have a good view is exciting for me

Tip for future students

My tips would be to not stress so much, while college is scary and you need to be focused, people will tell you to start early, but have an idea of your piq’s and go from there.

Favorite class

Chemistry was my favorite class even though i’m a communications major, I always enjoyed the small math that was included and learning about the periodic table

Career goals

I plan to work in a beauty company, like rare beauty or fenty and be involved with the social media team, whether it be small or big participation I just want to use my creative side professionally.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night would be getting food, finding a cute spot to hangout and just talking freely.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is art department, when i was walking there i noticed there was a bench upstairs and it was nice and quiet, although this might change in the upcoming fall I enjoyed how you could see everything.
