Alia Hill CU Boulder Environmental studies student
Hello, my name is Alia Hill. I am from Denver, Colorado, and I am majoring in environmental studies. I hope to have a career as a conservation biologist or a wildlife/zoo veterinarian. When I'm not in an academic setting, you can often find me hiking, fishing, enjoying jazz in the park, trying new restaurants, attending concerts, or going out with my friends.

Describe your college experience
My transition to college was a little different from most students because I arrived in July rather than August due to a sports commitment. Going a month earlier than everyone else allowed me to become familiar with my environment and explore life on my own. As someone who has already attended two separate universities, I have had an amazing college experience, receiving both a private school education and a state school educatio, providingg very different dynamics but still having the same goal of furthering education
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid to go to office hours, make study groups, or ask questions. Everyone is here to support you and help you learn.
Favorite class
My favorite class I have ever taken was Conservation Biology in Latin America. My teacher not only shared her own research and thesis but also discussed her colleagues' work. She covered a wide range of conservation topics, making the class exciting and providing plenty of inspiration.
Career goals
I aspire to become a conservation biologist and help save endangered ecosystems and the animals within them. If I had to choose another career, I would hope to become a veterinarian, perhaps specializing in zoo and wildlife animal care.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Going out to a new restaurant, reading a book, and hanging out with friends.
