Describe your college experience

I tried a LOT of different things this year, from bouldering to swing dancing to sports to live music, I pretty much packed my schedule with as many things and people as I possibly could, and it was a blast. I ADORED my major and all of my classes in the atlas building. Things were kinda rough with my roomate, and that was definitely hard. I also went through about two different friend groups before finding people I really liked. Overall, I think I found a bunch of great groups, and explored the area really well. One of my favorite things to do was try all the different coffee shops in Boulder to find my favorite :). While this year was really fast paced and a lot of work, I had the most fun I ever have.

Tip for future students

Don't worry too much about finding your best friends right away. For some people it happens, for others it doesn't. The best way to find your people is to do the things that YOU like to do, and ask people to join you! The right ones will find a way to stick around. Finding people with a car (or having one) was a lifesaver, but the free ebikes for students on campus were awesome. The music scene is huge, be prepared to spend a lot of money on concerts. The more you can get outdoors the better, it's nice to be off campus sometimes. Being friends with upper classmen was a life saver, and the easiest way to do that is to join organizations.

Favorite class

My favorite class so far was my FORM class, where I CADDed, prototyped, and created a variety of products, from lamps to a customized wooden book shelf for my house next year. Being hands on was amazing, and the flexibility and creativity I got to exercise was incredible.

Career goals

My current goal is to intern at Nike in Product Design my Junior/Senior year, in order to be able to work their after I graduate in product or experience design.

Ideal way to spend a free night

go play pickleball or soccer with a group of friends at the rec, get dinner together, go on a sidequest and then watch a show with snacks and drinks.
