Relaxed Mathematics Major who has knowledge of the Rutgers labyrinth.
Hello, I am Jacob, A Sophomore at Rutgers New Brunswick University. I went to high school in Jersey, and because of its proximity, affordability, and quality, I chose to go to Rutgers. Being here is great, the options you have feel almost unlimited. From swimming in the gym to exploring every area of the many libraries, I always have something to do. If you need to find me, I am very likely in the dining hall's great atmosphere, grinding out work for some class. It is possible I am also in Busch's student center, listening to the many great people playing the piano. Or from time to time, I'll be in the Esports center of Busch, playing a game on a big TV with friends. So come down and check Rutgers out, I would absolutely be delighted to show all the great things Rutgers has to offer. Whether you want to see some bustling streets in College Avenue or the chill atmosphere of a museum, I will be there!

Describe your college experience
Initially, the start of my experience at Rutgers was not perfect. I was nervous to start a whole new type of life compared to my days in high school. Rutgers, however; made this adjustment as good as it could be. The activities at welcome week allowed for a smooth entrance into social situations, and made me feel more at home. Since then, my experience has been great, as I have been going to clubs, meeting new friends, and living college life well.
Tip for future students
While it is hard to give general advice since every person is so different, I would still generally recommend to put yourself out to the world. Put effort to not be pessimistic, and realize people want to socialize too. Making friends helps in all aspects of college, such as in giving you better connections for jobs and events, as well as boosting your mood.
Favorite class
My favorite class I took was Computer Architecture. This is because it covered many interesting topics such as the basics of how computers communicate with programs at a very low level. My skills in computer science were also highly expanded from this class, allowing me to understand more complicated programs.
Career goals
I want to be a software engineer at a medium scale company
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night very much depends on my mood. If I have work or I am tired, I will most likely spend this time working or relaxing respectively. If I do have the energy, I do like going out and doing activities with my friends.
High school or secondary school
Columbia High School
Favorite spot on campus
I love the Busch student center because it is very chill. The especially amazing thing about it is that there is a piano in it, leading many people to play it throughout the day. I personally love listening to it, but If you want to work without noise, there are many areas of it that a completely quiet. The combination of social liveliness with the option of quiet areas. Allows for me to go to Busch's student center a large amount of time.
