Exercise Science major who loves all things sports

Hey, I’m Logan! I am an exercise science major studying to become a Physical Therapist. I am from Pensacola, FL, so I had little experience with BYU before I started school. I came to love this school after a few short weeks into my first semester (it’s pretty easy). I love almost all things sports from playing, watching, and even officiating. Basketball is definitely my favorite, but I also love football, volleyball, spike ball, ultimate frisbee, disc golf, and just about any yard game. When I’m not playing an intramural game myself, I am probably watching a BYU sporting event or officiating a basketball game. Though I currently spend most of my time in the Smith Fieldhouse and the RB, my first couple of years exposed me to lots of different areas around campus to give me wholistic view of BYU. I would love to give you a tour and show you all of my favorite spots on campus! And bring your questions, too.

Describe your college experience

Although it was a little rough at first, my experience in college has been wonderful. Academics were harder than I anticipated, deep friendships have been made, and there are lots of fun activities to do.

Tip for future students

Ask other people about professors before you take their classes. Don’t take so many credits that you don’t have time for anything else, balance grades, social life, work, etc.

Favorite class

My favorite class was Biomechanics (EXSC 362) because it brought together the anatomy of the human body, the physics of how it moves, and real life applications particularly in the worlds of sports and medicine. The professor was also great.

Career goals

I am studying to be a physical therapist and will start applying to pt schools next fall

Ideal way to spend a free night

My perfect way to spend a free night is to find a sporting event to go to. When those aren’t happening, I love to hangout with my friends.

High school or secondary school

Pace High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the Richard’s Building. I love sports and basketball in particular. When I’m not in class, there’s a good chance I’m playing basketball or volleyball there.

Meeting point

Joseph F. Smith Building Courtyard on the Brigham Young University campus
