Pre-Med Public Health major with a passion for BYU’s mission!

Hello! I’m Dallin, a fifth-year senior studying Public Health, hoping to get into medical school this winter. I moved to Provo from San Antonio, Texas after finishing a mission in California and Argentina (COVID allowed me to serve in two places!) I love spending time with my wife and daughter when I’m not doing homework, working at the Student Health Center, or volunteering at the Utah Valley Hospital. I play basketball in the mornings a couple times a week with friends and my wife and I love to hike different spots up Provo Canyon. On a rare free night, you’ll find me going to a movie with my wife taking advantage of AMC Provo’s half-price Tuesdays and Wednesdays, or trying out on of Provos lesser known but super tasty restaurants. My time at BYU has been better than I thought it would be, and I have loved the focus that President Reese has placed on doing our part to help BYU become what it was intended to become! There are so many opportunities to learn so that we can “go forth to serve”, all we have to do is look for them!

Describe your college experience

I started college after a two-year mission in both California and Argentina. I took a lot of Pre-Medical classes and other generals which were challenging but engaging!

Tip for future students

Ask for help and take advantage of office hours! Developing a relationship with your TAs and professors will benefit you in the long run!

Favorite class

Working with Vulnerable and Diverse Populations, we got hands-on experience serving and learning about others, especially people different than us, which is a huge part of BYU’s mission!

Career goals

I am currently in the interview phase of medical school applications, hoping to start in the summer/fall of 2027.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Hosting a game night with my wife and making food.

Favorite spot on campus

I enjoy walking along the south campus area, the view of Provo and the landscaping feels more calm than other parts of campus.
