Outgoing Communications Major Who Knows Every Corner of Campus
Hi, I'm Grace! I'm a senior in the Communications major who knows the ins and outs of campus, from the best study spots to where students actually hang out. When I'm not in class, you'll find me skiing, hiking, running, reading or playing sports. I remember how big and new everything felt when I first got here, and I'd love to show you how you can make this college your home and somewhere you'll want to stay. Can't wait to show you around!

Describe your college experience
My transition to college was an adjustment. Being away from home was hard, and I struggled with homesickness at first. What changed things for me was finding friends who felt like family. Getting involved in student activities and sports helped me build those friendships, and over time college started to feel like home. If I could give one piece of advice to a college freshman, it would be this: be the person who always invites, and don't be afraid to try new things. That's what turned college from a place I missed home in into a place that feels like home.
Tip for future students
My biggest tip for new students is to join everything. Try all the clubs, go to the events, and make it a goal to talk to at least one new person every time. You'll almost never regret going to something or trying something new, but you might regret staying home. One of the coolest things about college is how many opportunities you get to explore, so take advantage of as many as you can. there are so many advantages to being a student, enjoy it while it lasts.
Favorite class
Introduction to Art, the teacher was such a good teacher, she made the art come alive and helped me connect and understand art to a deeper level. She gave us really cool assignments that allowed me to be creative and she made learning so fun.
Career goals
My career goal is to work in social media, communications, and public relations for a company. I love helping organizations tell their story and connect with the people they serve. My experience as a Content Intern at Relay, where I created content concepts across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and email, showed me how much I enjoy this kind of work. Being bilingual in English and Spanish also helps me reach wider audiences. After I graduate, I hope to grow into a role where I can help shape a company's voice and build real relationships with its community.

Favorite spot on campus
My favorite building on campus is the library. It may not be the prettiest place at BYU, but it became a gathering place for my friends and I. Some of my favorite college memories happened there, from late study sessions to conversations that turned into lasting friendships. It's also where I've grown the most, both as a student and as a person. For me, the library isn't just where I studied; it's where college started to feel like home.
