I'm a First-year student who can give you a fresh perspective of starting at BYU
What's up? I'm Grant, a freshman at BYU with aims to make in the BYU finance program. I have really enjoyed my time here at BYU and I feel like every time I'm on campus I learn, Improve, and feel my love for this place grow. I don't need anything special to have fun. I'm happy with some good ol' cheap thrills like playing pickleball, fishing, hiking, camping, or really any outdoor activity. I think anything can be fun as long as you surround yourself with the right people. I also love sports. My favorite is definitely football but I enjoy watching or playing almost any sport. There are so many opportunities, resources, activities and things to see at BYU. Please come with questions! I hope you're excited to get to know the campus and more about this special university.

Describe your college experience
Transitioning to college was definitely a change but it has been such a great learning experience for me. I have had to learn to juggle many responsibilities while also finding time to do things that I enjoy. I have been very impressed with all the resources and help here at BYU. It truly feels like everyone wants to help you succeed.
Tip for future students
Use the resources that have been provided for you! There are so many people that have been trained and hired to help you get the most out of your college experience! Meet with advisors or counselors to help you figure out financial plans, course plans, any many other stressful things you'll have on your plate. Also don't forget to just have fun. Take advantage of the opportunity of meeting new people, getting envolved, and overall just growing as a person.
Favorite class
Accounting, because I really enjoy problem solving and learning more about business operations.
Career goals
I plan to graduate with a finance degree and find a job that can provide me with the means and the time to start a family. I hope to one day use my knowledge in finance to help me build companies of my own.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night would be at the bowling alley or up in the mountains with my close friends. I really enjoy doing anything outside of the house as long as I am with my friends or family.

My favorite spot on campus is the library. The building is really spacious and beautiful. I love that I can go study, meet new people or just hangout with a group of friends there.
