I’m a gentle and easygoing person.
Hi, I’m Yunfan (Yuffy), and I’m currently a junior majoring in Marketing at the Rutgers Business School. I moved from China to New Jersey at age 12 and have lived here ever since. I enjoy art and visual creation, as well as critical thinking and math to a degree, which is why I chose Marketing as my major. I really like boba, and there’s a boba shop at Livingston Student Center that I stop by almost every week. I’d be happy to show you around campus and share what it’s like to study and spend time here!

Describe your college experience
Great so far! I go to class every day, can find the food I want, and enjoy how spacious and relaxing the campus is. I also take Rutgers buses to get around campus to meet up with friends or attend events.
Tip for future students
The most important thing is to make sure you have enough time for your classes. Try not to cram or pull all-nighters for midterms and finals because it can hurt your thinking speed and overall health condition. I’d also recommend going to club events and getting to know the committee members. You can learn how they got their positions and how you might get involved yourself. Once you become a member, it can open more opportunities to connect with professionals, find internships, and apply for campus jobs. Another thing to keep in mind is parking and car traffic. It can be difficult in some areas, especially around College Ave, and you may need a parking permit to park in certain areas. Personally, if I’m going to College Ave, I usually take the Rutgers bus instead.
Favorite class
I like Consumer Behavior the best because it combines psychology, creative thinking, and some statistical methods to evaluate how to effectively persuade an audience to become interested in a brand and eventually convert that interest into sales.
Career goals
I hope to find a career in marketing after college. I’m not sure what specific position I want yet, but so far I’ve been enjoying social media, outreach, and organizing events and projects. I’m hoping to explore different areas of marketing and see what fits me best.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I’d probably watch a movie with my family and chat about what’s been going on. It’s a nice way to relax, catch up, and just spend some time together.

Favorite spot on campus
The student centers are my favorite spots because they are convenient and usually have food options and Wi-Fi, so I can eat while working. Some of them also have game rooms.
