Knowledgeable Education Major who likes to calculate the future
Hello/Greetings, travelers from other far lands and close to home, I'm glad you chose to experience and ask about CCU collage with a First-Year. To start off with this tour, my name is Yasmine, currently in the path of becoming a Secondary Teacher in Mathematics, lived in Conway from childhood till now. Usually, I'll be around in Thompson Library during my free periods, not only to study and get some work done, but also from how quiet it is, especially around the corners, technically my personal favorite spots. I'll be glad to answer any questions, from my personal experience in CCU to the wonders of opportunities here, of course there are some limits to what I know and what you want to know but that's the fun part. Experiencing it yourself is far more different hearing it through word of mouth. Be bold, be brave and don't be shy to try on new things.

Describe your college experience
My experience as a First-Year in CCU wasn't as rough as it would of been like other First-Years since I've actually visited CCU in a extracurricular activity and Teach Cadet in my high school year. But some advice that I can give is to walk around one area at a time, whenever you can find your own free time that is. In each building, explore where the stairs, exits, shops, and classes are to get used to the structure of the building.
Tip for future students
What I wished, I've known before I began college were the deadlines for campus, like housing, meal plans, and payment plans.
Favorite class
Precalculus, number calculation has always been something I've been good at.
Career goals
What I plan to do after college is become a part-time sub to settle or maybe even see what school I'm confident in being with before I settled for as a full-time teacher.
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal way to spend a free night is to use half of that time to finish any work that I might be missing or want to finish early and the other half for self-care.
High school or secondary school
Conway High
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite spot has to be the Thompson Library as not only does it have multiple comfort spots to be at but also because I'm able to look into the Makerspace area and see what people are making, whether it's 3D printing, woodcarving or even sewing.
Meeting point
Graham Family Bell Tower on the Coastal Carolina University campus
