Describe your college experience

My college experience has been bumpy but great overall. I started college thinking I was going to kill it but quickly learned that it requires a lot more than what I was doing in high school. I would say it took me about a year and a half to actually figure out “how to do college” which was a great experience for me but if I could I’d love to share how to get over that hump quicker. Knowing what I know now I would’ve approached college differently. Fast forward to now, I really enjoy all my classes and the events BYU has to offer because I have learned how to balance my responsibilities alright.

Tip for future students

It definitely is different from high school. Depending on what classes you take you can either have a really easy time or hard time. Understanding that most of the time teachers don’t take role because you are paying to be there so you can leave whenever you want. I also think helping students understand how to grow and develop very fast is a good thing and will happen if you know how to do it when you start college. That first week is so important and you just need to make sure you are yourself to the absolute max, be extroverted enough that you can make friends. Go join a random sports intramural team and I promise you will make friends.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been my manufacturing class where I made a metal clock with CNC machines and other cool tools.

Career goals

My career goals are to graduate with my engineering degree, work at this place in Tennessee that said they would hire me after I finish, work there for a while and see how I like it, on the side work on a business that eventually will become my actual job if I don’t love what I’m doing. That’s about it. I obviously want to start a family and have that be my main focus but career wise that is what I’m looking like.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I love to go out and do something whether it’s a sport, hanging out and about with friends, an escape room, golf, or going out to eat. I’d enjoy doing all of these things over and over again if I could.

High school or secondary school

Davis High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is actually the library, it’s so big and I have found a desk that no one ever takes that has a nice chair, a whiteboard, a big desk, a charger port, and you’re allowed to eat there too.

Meeting point

Joseph F. Smith Building Courtyard on the Brigham Young University campus
