Outgoing business major who loves to explore campus

Hi, I’m Jarin! I’m an Information Systems student at BYU who enjoys building websites, meeting new people, and finding cool things happening around campus. I even built a website to help students discover BYU events! I love working on creative projects and finding ways to make college life a little easier and more fun. You’ll usually find me at the gym in the mornings and hanging out at the Creamery in the evenings—it’s all about balance! In between, I’m spending time with friends, working on a project, or seeing what’s happening around campus. Choosing a college is a big decision, and I’d love to help you get a feel for everyday life at BYU. Whether you’re curious about classes, making friends, or where to grab a bite to eat, I’m happy to share my experience and show you around!

Describe your college experience

My time at Utah Valley University was great, but when I came over to Brigham Young University, it has been a game changer. The sense of community and the college experience has just been so much cooler, and every time I meet someone new, it always makes me so much happier than when I was at UVU.

Tip for future students

Always be social and try to make as many connections as you can while you're at BYU because the people that you meet here are unlike anybody else in the world.

Favorite class

My top pick would have to be product and project management. as a runner up I really enjoy my religion class that would definitely be my first one just because the way that it helps me connect to my religion and being able to learn more about these things has been awesome.

Career goals

After I graduate, I plan on working full time as a technical consultant or software development manager.

Ideal way to spend a free night

I love to hang out with friends, I would want to go to a cool restaurant late at night, something like InNOut at 9 p.m. with my buddies, and then afterwards we could go get some dessert somewhere downtown Provo.

Favorite spot on campus

I love the BYU creamery just because of how many people are there and go there, and the ice cream there is just amazing as well as the food it is the top hangout spot on campus.
