Hi! I’m Antonietta, a senior at Rutgers University studying Public Health. I’m Italian and have had the unique experience of living in Italy, so I love meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing my experiences. During my time at Rutgers, I’ve lived in the dorms and now I live off campus, which has given me a chance to experience different sides of student life. I’ve really grown to love Rutgers and all that campus has to offer, from the different dining spots and study areas to the traditions and experiences that make Rutgers feel like home. I’d be happy to share my favorite spots, give you an honest look at everyday life as a Rutgers student, and answer any questions you have along the way!

Describe your college experience

My college experience at Rutgers University in New Brunswick has been a journey of learning, growth, and becoming more independent. The transition from high school to college was a little challenging at first because I had to adjust to a new environment, manage my time, and become more responsible for my own schoolwork. Over time, I became more comfortable with the workload and learned how to balance my academics with my personal life. I have learned a lot through my Public Health courses and have become more interested in epidemiology and improving patient outcomes. Rutgers has also helped me grow as a person by giving me opportunities to meet new people, experience different environments, and prepare for my future career. Overall, my college experience has had its challenges, but it has helped me become more confident, independent, and focused on my goals.

Tip for future students

Don’t be afraid to ask for help and get involved on campus. Stay organized, manage your time wisely, and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. College can be challenging at first, but you will adjust and find your own routine. Also, get to class early!!! Don’t rely on the buses for punctuality.

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Epidemiology. My professor made it such a fun and interactive class. I’ve learned so much from her and it made me want to pursue public health and epidemiology even more.

Career goals

After college I hope to get a masters in Epidemiology and work in a hospital in the Epi department helping the community in how to improve their health.

Ideal way to spend a free night

A free night for me would be spending time with my friends, either going out to grab something to eat, or chill inside and watch a movie/play board games.

Favorite spot on campus

One of my favorite spots is Vorhees mall on college ave especially when the weather is nice. Me and my friends will grab a blanket and study there for hours, or grab a bite to eat.
