Describe your college experience

I originally was unsure about going to BYU. There were so many universities I was interested and quite honestly, as a girl from Missouri, I was a little daunted by the move to Utah. But I decided to go anyway. Moving to college was definitely an adjustment. I had to learn how to live on my own, rebuild my social network, and take rigorous classes on top of it. But BYU's resources and community played a huge role in helping my adjust. I lived in the heritage apartments for my first year of college and ended up becoming best friends with my roommates and making some amazing connections with the people around me. I attended football games, exercise classes, cultural events, dances, cinema showings and joined BYU women's chorus. Because I was so unsure on what to study, I've taken many different classes to help me explore my options from accounting, to yoga, to international relations, to French, to music, to ballet, and so on! I've loved every class and program I've explored, and I've met so many wonderful people. I've decided to study experience design management so I can help create beautiful experiences for myself and others in all of my passions (community, music, travel, etc.) I can't wait to see what else BYU has in store for me!

Tip for future students

- learn the most effective learning/studying style for you - explore all of your interests (through clubs, events, classes, or really anything possible) - remember you don't have to have it all figure out yet - BREATHE!

Favorite class

I decided to take a FRENCH 101 class (having never taken a french class before) and I absolutely fell in love with it. The class was rigorous and difficult but it had such a sense of community and I loved expanding my brain in such a new way. I am taking the next class up now and hope to continue taking French classes!!

Career goals

I hope to open or work for a music venue and produce music for myself and others!

Ideal way to spend a free night

One of my favorite things to do is go to the movies. But I also love going to concerts, going out downtown, or having a night in with my roommates.

Favorite spot on campus

My new favorite spot on campus is the recently renovated fine arts building. I have attended a couple film screenings in the building and love to walk through the halls in between classes to look at the different art displays. It's such a beautiful and inspiring place and I love
