Describe your college experience

My transition to college was very hard at first. It takes a while to get into a routine, and my first few weeks were evidence of that. The difference in workload between high school and college is quite substantial, and the sudden jump hit me hard during those first few weeks. After the first month, though, I got more into the swing of things, and the heavy workload became more normal to me. The stress never went away, but it became more manageable as I got used to it. I’ve found that having a learning mindset, a good support system, and a good schedule or routine can make the transition to college much easier.

Tip for future students

1. Build a schedule and stick to it. 2. Figure out the best study method for you.

Favorite class

My favorite class at Rutgers University so far has to be my General Psychology class. For me, it was a great class to have after all my more strenuous, math-heavy classes and gave me a chance to wind down a little bit. The topics were very engaging and helped me gain insight into many of the hows and whys of human behavior and life in general. Dr. Goldstein was also a great professor. He was engaging during lectures and didn’t make the workload too heavy.

Career goals

My goals are very simple: to get a job that can support my lifestyle and possibly my family while still allowing me to maintain a good work-life balance.

Ideal way to spend a free night

If I'm staying inside, my ideal way to spend a free night is to make a song or play video games. If I'm going outside, my ideal way to spend a free night is to take a stroll through the city, ideally with one other person.
