Friendly Business Major with connections all over campus šŸ’™

Hi! I’m Miriam, I’m from the Midwest and when I was 17, was super nervous to start college. Now, it feels like a second home. I love walking across campus with books in my arm, headed to my favorite corner to study, or to my favorite shop for a snack. I love stopping at Cougar Creations to work on my latest art project or the stopping by the Smith Fieldhouse to hit some weights. BYU can be overwhelming at first, but that’s because it has so much to offer!!

Describe your college experience

I have loved BYU! I have personally been involved in a lot of areas of campus. I’ve worked in the cougar eat, for the college of science & math, participated in casual clubs like pickleball and swing dancing and more formal ones like the real OCD club, women in entrepreneurship and the management consulting association. I have loved to try new experiences on campus and am always amazed at everything they offer here on campus!

Tip for future students

Prioritize your social life! Some of the richest blessings of BYU come from your network. Don’t stress so much about grades (though don’t forget about them either!)

Favorite class

Creating a Good Life! It’s a class about how to design a purposeful life centered around the things that matter most to you!

Career goals

I am applying to study Instructional Design Psychology (I want to help kids learn in a more fun and efficient way, and hope to start my own outdoor camp for kids very soon on my family’s farm!)

Ideal way to spend a free night

Going on a random adventure with a few friends— like getting pizza šŸ• then star gazing 🌌
