Your first friend on campus. And yes I know just about everything about campus.
Hey! I’m Wade, I’m a junior year student here at BYU. I’m a mechanical engineering student, but I also love Portuguese and I’m starting a few businesses here soon, so that’s funnn. I try to stay busy and intentional with my time, but that doesn’t mean I’m cooped up in my room doing homework all the time. I love being involved with the happenings on campus and in provo. I’m also a big fan of friends and cool people. Looking forward to help in anyway I can!

I was in the Formula E Racing club for a bit, but decided to push it aside a little. I also am in the Rollins Center a couple times a week and am thinking about going to a club meeting of theirs on fridays starting this week.

Describe your college experience
Better than expected. I thought I was going to be stressed out of my mind and drowning in homework. Even with taking one of the more challenging majors on campus, still feel like I’m able to juggle all the parts of my life very well. Also, I’ve met some pretty exceptional people over the last couple of years. So that’s amazing as well.
Tip for future students
Surround yourself with people who you look up to. Be picky with who you spend your time with. And don’t be afraid to get help from counselors and professors on campus. They’re all amazing people and are there for that exact reason.
Favorite class
Honestly this is kind of a toss up. There’s specific things that are great about each one. I love my portuguese because talks about the cultures of Brazil and it reminds me of my mission. But I also love my entrepreneurship class because I’m surrounded by people who want to innovate and make the world better. And lastly, but not least, I really like my mechanics and materials classes because I’m seeing the world around me through the eyes of an engineer and I’m learning so much. So yeah, hard to say.
Career goals
I want to be a mechanical engineer or product designer at a company that does good. I haven’t found exactly what industry is my favorite. But I want to make “things” better.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Surrounded by cool people I enjoy. Not like a house party or anything wild. Just a good time. I also really enjoy helping others.
