Friendly Business student who loves BYU and wants to show just how great it is.
Hello there! My name is Harris and I am a Strategic Management student in the Marriott School of Business. I am a sophomore and have been able to have a lot of amazing experiences here at BYU. One of my favorites things about BYU is that there is something for everyone. I started here at BYU and joined the Army ROTC my first semester. I was able to try it out with no commitment and decided that as much as I loved the culture, my dream career wasn’t really in line with what the ROTC offered so I left to pursue my major. I then walked on to the BYU Rugby team and was blessed with that amazing opportunity to learn that beautiful sport and make so many friends. And now this semester I have began the Strategic Management program in the school of business! My experience at BYU has been so fulfilling and rewarding as I’ve worked hard to succeed at my goals.

Describe your college experience
I served a church mission for 2 years then came here to BYU. Starting school was amazing because I loved learning and stretching myself and being successful. BYU is a perfect place for me to do that because I can focus on myself and my studies with plenty of fun activities and Great people but not many distractions.
Tip for future students
I wish I knew that you should stay ahead of your deadlines and then play after, not vice versa. If you don’t procrastinate your work, you’ll have more time then you think you do.
Favorite class
My current Economics of Strategy class is very interesting due to the comprehensive topics we learn about cases and issues that businesses face and work to find solutions to them.
Career goals
I hope to be a consultant or work in a corporate strategy position.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Hot tub with friends, play board games, eat good food
High school or secondary school
Lone Star High School
Favorite spot on campus
I love the library, there’s something for everyone there and it’s always an amazing place to focus on homework and I personally become infatuated with my work and classes when I am able to focus on them in that environment.
