Describe your college experience
I participated in a program allowing me to complete college credit during the last two years of high school. Because of that, I felt I had a smooth transition into Brigham Young University and I feel very blessed. Nonetheless, transitioning to such a big school in a different environment than I was used to, my first few months at BYU were terrifying. It was daunting finding my classes and textbooks alone and not knowing exactly what resources to use as a first-generation college student. After passing through the initial transition period, my time at BYU has been filled with wonderful professors, meaningful courses, and a great campus with many resources to pull from.
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid to ask for help - it's a good way to make new friends and get where you need to go (literally and academically). Advocate for yourself even if it feels awkward and rely on the campus resources because there are so many!
Favorite class
My favorite class was a New Testament class I took my freshman year at BYU. I really enjoyed this glass because, although the course material was something I consider boring, what I learned was incredible. The professor had a special way of engaging all students during the lectures. As someone who wasn't raised entirely in a religious background, I never felt bad for asking questions and not knowing basics.
Career goals
My post-college goals are a little up in the air currently. I plan to attend graduate school at BYU in 2028. I'm considering teaching and environmental law. Regardless, I just want to help people learn, and also appreciate the beauty and importance of sustaining the natural world around us.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Hanging out with friends and going climbing, hiking, or playing sports. Then going home and reading a book, or three.

Favorite spot on campus
I love the JFSB because I take most of my classes in that building. There's a window on the fourth floor that over looks campus and the Y mountain and since I love mountains I find it the perfect place to study.
