A neuro major that not only maps the mind, but also campus
Hi everyone! My name is Chloe Riche, and I'm a senior at Princeton University. I'm majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Global Health and Health Policy. In my free time, I love to dance (especially with the dance group I'm a part of, the Black Arts Company), go on matcha runs, and relax with my friends at my eating club, The Quadrangle Club!

Describe your college experience
Honestly, at first it was hard. My high school wasn’t a feeder school by any means and I was used to barely studying and getting As. Obviously, Princeton was a lot different and the first semester I thought about transferring out but I kept going and eventually felt t home on campus. Now I have great grades, have been a crucial part of many club boards, and have an amazing support system.
Tip for future students
Do not take syllabus week as a calm first week. Take this as a time to organize your classes and see which one will have the largest workload. Also take this (rare) free time to get ahead of your work, but also take time for yourself and to see your friends, of course.
Favorite class
One class that was absolutely unforgettable was ATL 494: Baby Wants Candy: Creating Comedy for Television. This class was not a requirement at all, but it showed the broad range of classes that Princeton provides. As a class we got to write a group pilot for a comedy show and also come up with our own original skits and ideas. For me, the best part was going to NYC to watch a live comedy show. It refreshing to see an enjoyable and light class at a prestigious university.
Career goals
After I graduate, I would like to work as a lab manager in a university lab for two years before I apply to PhD programs.
Ideal way to spend a free night
If I’m free, I’d love to do a cute game night with my girl friends in one of our dorms. We bring snacks, drinks, a couple of board games, and have a great time!
High school or secondary school
The Mary Louis Academy
Favorite spot on campus
My favorite place in campus would have to be my eating club, formally known as the Quadrangle Club. When I joined my eating club as a sophomore, I saw it as nothing more than a place to have my meals and occasionally party. Now, I’ve become an officer and all my closest friends are here. Besides that I also love Addy Hall in Huo College specifically for Coffee Club!
