Hi I'm Meghan, a sophomore animal science major on the pre-vet track. I was drawn to Maryland because of its close-knit feeling of a central college campus. You'll will find me either running around campus, trying all the restaurants in town or on the farm watching the animals. I fell in love with the campus the first time I toured it and wanted to know all about it. I love talking about how great it is and would love to share all the fun things I like to do while at school. Feel free to ask any and however many questions you would like!

Describe your college experience

I am super lucky to have found great people to be around which made college fun and easy adjusting to. There was a lot to do and people to hang out with which kept me busy and happy.

Tip for future students

In the first few days try as many different things that you want to and be friendly to everyone. Having friendly faces in different groups is really helpful and refreshing.

Favorite class

ANSC103 has been my favorite class at UMD so far because it was a lot of hands-on work with many different species of animal on the farm.

Career goals

I am planning on joining the military and then going to vet school!

Ideal way to spend a free night

I would go to the campus market and get some snacks and head back to my room to do karaoke with my friends and then watch a movie.

The McKelden Mall is my favorite spot on campus because I love seeing people enjoying the weather outside when it is nice and all the fun events that happen there.
