Hi! I’m Brooke, an Economics major with a minor in Public Health. I’m very academic and genuinely love school! I have a love for knowledge and learning, and I’m passionate about science and economics. Outside of class, I’m big into working out, staying active, and hanging out with friends.

Describe your college experience

I LOVEEEE UF!!! Coming from out of state, I was really nervous about how I would fit in. But the students, professors, and people in Gainesville could not have been more welcoming to me. I have switched my major three times, so I have really experienced all different areas of the school. I lived in the dorms freshman year, and I met so many people from all over. I now live in an off campus apartment with 5 of my best friends, and I still am meeting so many people. I truly love every aspect of this school. I love learning and I really do love sharing my adoration for the school with others.

Tip for future students

Keep an open mind!! Coming from someone who switched majors three times, it is rare that you know what you want to do with your life at 18 years old. Be ambitious and advocate for yourself and your beliefs!! Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Talk to the people next to you in class!!!

Favorite class

My favorite class has been Macroeconomics because the professor, Dr.Knight, made the class so enjoyable. He taught course content in such a clear and engaging manner, that I was excited to go to class every time!

Career goals

I want to do something at the intersection of business and healthcare/biotech. I love science and healthcare and I want to do something that has to do with both fields!

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal night would be going to a fun dinner with my friends at the Swamp restaurant or Dragonfly downtown. Then, we would go to Mayday or Menchies for ice cream. I would then hang out with my friends, walk around, and just have a good time.

High school or secondary school

Blind Brook HS

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus would have to be the Plaza of the Americas/Lib west. I LOVE that area. The walkways and trees and so picturesque, and there is always something going on in the area. There is so much life there and it really encompasses the whole feel of the University.
