3rd Year UCSD Humanities Major Who's Super Active on Campus!!
Hello! I'm Aimee, and I'm a third year Studio Arts major here at UCSD. WAIT! Don't scroll away yet!! While I know that the arts is sort of a niche major here at this STEM school, I promise I have plenty of knowledge about the other majors too. I know the ins and outs of this school by heart from clubs, to dorms, to classes. I can even tell you the best dining halls (or the worst ones, take your pick). I'm super active in clubs on campus, such as the UCSD Animation Club or Muir Musical. I even have a little job on the side here where I teach kids how to draw. There is so much that comes with beginning college, it can be hard to know where to start. That is why I will do my best to give you a master guide based on my own experiences or those of my friends. Feel free to ask me as many questions as you like on any topic! I look forward to meeting with you. :D Throughout my few years here, I've really come to make this campus my home. It is my happy place! I would love for it to become yours too.

Describe your college experience
The thing that will make or break your college experience is how much you apply to opportunities or put yourself out there. I was very fortunate because before I began my first quarter at UCSD, I already had some experience with college classes through a school run program called Summer Bridge. Summer Bridge is designed to help students adjust to the fast pace of college classes, and to provide them with countless resources so their transition into higher education is as smooth as possible.
Tip for future students
College is hard, and it's kind of designed that way. That being said, you will learn and grow so much throughout it. Please be so patient with yourself. It's such a big adjustment, and sometimes it can take a while for it to feel fully like home, but there's nothing else like it in the world. You will do amazing. Just remember to take breaks, take a deep breath, and start again. :]
Favorite class
This is going to be very telling of a lot of my school life, but the class I loved the most at UCSD was my MMW 14 class that I took my second year. Elenor Roosevelt College offers a special seminar version of the class that allows the students to go on a week long field trip into the desert over Spring Break. It was such an unforgettable experience to be there with my classmates, and to learn so much history of the Colorado Desert. There is so much you would never guess about the world. :]
Career goals
I would like to be a story board artist somewhere in the animation industry. I love telling stories, and I think animation is the highest form of art out there simply because of how much skill it requires from huge teams of people.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Unfortunately I have an extremely unexciting answer, and I like to stay cozy in my dorm/apartment most nights. However the biggest reason for this is because I'm such close friends with the people I live with that it's always a blast. I lost many games of Catan with them.

Favorite spot on campus
It's a little study space called Treetop! I like it because no one really knows about it, so its very quiet and its just nice to feel a little more surrounded by nature.
