Extroverted pre-health student with a great work-life balance

Hi! I’m Hannah, a proud pre-optometry student majoring in General Biology. Over the past quarters, UCSD has become somewhere I’m proud to call home. I’ve managed to meet wonderful people, take amazing classes, and enjoy living on this enormous campus! You’ll usually find me grabbing snacks from the markets, locking in at the libraries or lounges, or dancing in parking lots with my team during the dead of night. I’d love to show you what my daily life looks like on campus and provide you with inside input on everything from the best food and coffee to the emptiest gyms (and even cleanest bathrooms)!

Describe your college experience

I have had a great experience at UCSD so far and found it very easy to integrate myself into the college lifestyle. While it can be difficult to juggle academically rigorous classes, extracurriculars, a social life, and personal health, all while adjusting to an entirely new environment, I have found a lot of enjoyment in it.

Tip for future students

Do not forget to prioritize your own health! Sleeping enough, eating healthy, and not getting sick will have such a big impact on your grades. Don't be afraid to walk into random clubs or organizations that you think you have no place in; you never know what might come from it. Go outside your comfort zone and don't spend all day in your dorm!

Favorite class

BIPN 100 (Human Physiology) because it covered a wide breadth of knowledge about the human body that I was interested in.

Career goals

I hope to go onto optometry school and become a licensed optometrist.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Cooking and eating dinner with my friends, watching movies, and talking until late at night.

Favorite spot on campus

Glider lounge to study and chill!
