Psychology Student with a Caffeine Addiction
Hi I'm Emma! I'm a psychology student and proud coffee shop connoisseur. I am the youngest in my family so I was always ready to have my own experience at college. I'm a big Michigan football fan so you will always see me at a game. Going into college I didn't know anyone but my freshman year roommate introduced me to my current roommates. I am usually out and about but don't fear you will find me in a Hatcher carrel when midterms or finals come around. Ask me about any coffee shop and I'll give you an honest review. If I'm not studying I'm at the gym, volunteering, or playing rec tennis (join a sport!). Please don't be afraid to ask me questions! Describe your college experience
When I first came to Michigan I was a nursing student but it wasn't until sophomore year that I realized that's not what I wanted. Instead I chose Psychology because of my Psych 211 class with Professor Schreier who inspired me. Now I am a psychology major hoping to be a social worker and plans to get my MSW. The best part was definitely the dorms (Bursley member) because of how I got to know every single person on the floor. I still stay in contact with most of them even.
Tip for future students
Don't be afraid to join all the clubs! I was in at least 10 when we had Festifall. Once you find the one you really love, find ways to be a part of leadership.
Favorite class
Social Psychology, Professor Ackerman is one of the best professors we have. He makes the class interactive and you learn about everyday lessons. We learned about how hidden bias influence the choices we make.
Career goals
I hope to become a social worker in a hospital or for child welfare!
Ideal way to spend a free night
Grabbing dinner with friends (we love Mani's) then go to Washtenaw Dairy for a sweet treat. Afterwards my roommates and I would invite all our friends over for a little party.

University Natural History Museum, they have some awesome hidden study spots and greet chicken nuggets at the cafe for a study snack.
