Extroverted linguistics major / bio minor who actually likes campus food

Hello! My name is Sina and I'm a UCSD student studying linguistics (with a specialization in cognition) and biology. I'm from NorCal and it's been such a cool experience seeing the other side of California. I've made so many friends of so many backgrounds, getting to embrace the beauty of SoCal's diverse population. On campus, you might find me dodging oncoming SPIN-scooterers on the way to my study spots like Lingua Lounge, Geisel Library, and Middle Earth Lounge. I often go study nearby but off campus at CAVA or Namino Persian Restaurant. To relax, I often lie down by the Revelle Fountain or walk off campus to Gliderport and watch the waves go by. If you want to know the best places on campus to chill, study, eat, or just hangout, I would be more than happy to show you!

Describe your college experience

My transition to college was very slick; I knew well in high school that I was going to greatly enjoy college. I have made so many amazing friends and took upon so many opportunities that have genuinely enriched my life. I have continued Speech and Debate, taught Farsi, Portuguese, and Spanish on campus,

Tip for future students

Time management is the hardest part about becoming an adult. Use a calendar and make sure you budget enough time to take care of physical/mental health, homework, extra studying, work, financial organization, and other important tasks.

Favorite class

BIPN 100 (Human Physiology I), learning the inner workings of the human body was genuinely fascinating and really motivates me to pursue a career in healthcare.

Ideal way to spend a free night

Going out somewhere with friends and meeting a bunch of new people, then going home with those friends and hanging out for a bit longer, perhaps dining together, and then when they leave I play videogames or edit Wiktionary

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is this little table that is settled on a slope nearby Muir, it's very secluded and peaceful.
