Easygoing Political Science Major Obsessed With Women’s Sports

Hi there! My name is Jessica and I am a second-year at UCSD majoring in Political Science: Public Law! I love my major and I am learning so much. I hope to graduate in just three years so that I can take a gap year before entering law school. I am a very passionate and driven person that has done quite a bit of exploring on campus. I like to go out on my own very frequently and see what hidden spots are on campus. I can tell you the best places to chill, have lunch, and everything in between. I am a big advocate for the environment and have dedicated my life to community service. When I am an attorney, I want to do good for the world, possibly even become an environmental lawyer. I also love to watch, play, and coach all sports. It is what also fuels me through the day, inspiring others to do the thing that they love. I would love to show you around if given the chance.

Describe your college experience

I loved coming to college! UCSD is the best school ever in the best city in the country. I had an easy transition learning to be on my own and simultaneously get out there and become social.

Tip for future students

Something I would tell an incoming college student is that it is all going to work out and not to worry.

Favorite class

My favorite class was POLI 13D because the course surrounded the concepts of power and justice and explaining what those mean, where they come from, and how we as political actors determine who gets what rights.

Career goals

I want to take a gap year to work after graduating early and then go to law school in hopes of becoming a big shot attorney one day that does good for the world.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is to go somewhere by myself like dinner and a movie and enjoy the silence and calmness.

High school or secondary school

Upland High School

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the food court because they have a lot of really good options.

Meeting point

Triton Fountain on the University of California San Diego campus
