Motivated psychology major who loves exploring campus!
Hi, I'm Kahlia! I am a commuter student who transferred to UCSD in 2025. The transition was a little overwhelming at first, but I quickly found my bearings and would spend all day on campus. After my classes, I would search for a new study spot to try out. Eventually I got a scooter and expanded my horizons. There are so many beautiful spots on campus, and I would love to show you around! I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Additionally, if you have any questions about the public transportation, you've come to the right place! I'm a seasoned commuter by this point and have found my way around the numerous transportation systems that UCSD offers.

Describe your college experience
It was nerve wracking to go to such a big school at first, especially coming from a little community college. I thought I would be completely on my own, but I found a lot of support with the graduate students and professor's office hours. The teaching teams in my classes strive to have plenty of help available for students, which has been such a big help for me.
Tip for future students
I wish I connected with my professors earlier on in college. I didn't really start going to office hours until my junior year, and it was really nerve wracking when I started. The professors have always been happy to answer my questions, or talk to me about the field more.
Favorite class
My favorite class was PSYC 144- Memory and Amnesia. This class made me interested in psychology research, and I learned about all the research that takes place right here at UCSD.
Career goals
I hope to explore my interest in research more, and eventually narrow down my goal for graduate school.
Ideal way to spend a free night
I love going out with friends if I have a free night. Nights out may be grabbing dinner, going dancing, or going to the beach!

Favorite spot on campus
I like canyon vista, which is located in Warren College. It looks over this big open space with hills and greenery, and it is so quiet and peaceful. I love going there to eat lunch and/or study.
