Talkative psychology major who knows every shortcut to class
Hi! My name is Olivia or Liv and I’m a psychology major from Chicago! I have loved GWU and D.C since moving here and would consider it my favorite place in the world. I’m a great one to talk to about balancing a social life and academics as I’m involved in both academics clubs and greek life. Additionally, I recently switched my major so I’m able to offer insight into meeting with your advisors and planning a curriculum that meets your requirements.

Describe your college experience
I’ve met so many amazing people and have really found a sense of belonging and community. I feel more secure in my sense of self and all of my interests.
Tip for future students
Everyone is nervous to start and make friends, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and introduce yourself. Also, get ahead of your academics and set up a system to keep track of your work early.
Favorite class
My favorite class so far has been my Media Law class from my first semester of my freshman year. it was 8am on Monday’s and Fridays and Professor Brioche was definitely the most challenging teacher I’ve ever had. To have that experience right off the bat set me up to always be prepared and set me up to dive head first into college.
Career goals
Right now I’m torn between a medical malpractice lawyer and a child psychologist.
Ideal way to spend a free night
Hanging out with my friends playing the game Imposter in one of our rooms
High school or secondary school
Lake Forest Academy
Favorite spot on campus
I like Kogan Plaza during the spring when all the cherry blossoms are blooming. It’s so pretty to sit and study when it’s sunny and take in all of the beautiful nature.
Meeting point
Kogan Plaza Fountain on the George Washington University campus
