Natalie - Sophmore studying Marketing and Supply Chain Management
Hi! I'm Natalie and I'm a sophmore in Leeds from Philadelphia, PA. I absolutely love CU and going to school in Colorado. I'm currently studying Marketing and Supply Chain Management and I'm involved in BEWIT- Business Engineering Women in Technology- and the Leeds Peer2peer mentor program. Outside of academics, I'm in a sorority and on the board for the Big Mountain Club. I love everything outdoors from hiking, to skiing, to mountaineering. Last year was my first ski season in Colorado and I got to ski about 50 days!

Describe your college experience
Moving across the country from Philadelphia was definitely a challenge for me. Most of my friends stayed pretty close to home and my younger sister doesn't like flying on planes so I knew after my parents left for move in I wouldn't see them for a while. CU Boulder was my dream school though so I went in very excited. I had some challenges with my roomate and we didn't get along at first, but then we ended up becoming best friends and she's from Canada and I've gone home with her twice to visit her! I had to learn a lot about time management but once I got it down I ended up having the best year ever!
Tip for future students
My biggest tip would be to do things out of your comfort zone and just try to say yes to things to put yourself out there. If there's something that sounds interesting to you, whether it's a club meeting or any other cool event, even if you have no one to go with I think it's so important that you still go. I met so many of my best friends and made some of my best memories with the big mountain club and at their first meeting I had no one to go with but I still decided I would go and check it out. When I got there I saw only one girl and I felt so intimidated I almost turned around and went back to my dorm. I called my parents and they said I needed to go and check it out and I did and that night altered the rest of my freshmen year. I quite literally met my best friends and found a community that felt like a home to me.
Favorite class
Communication Strategy - I had a lot of fun in this class working with my team to create interesting and unique presentations. I also feel like it was really useful to be able to practice public speaking and basically simulate what that would be like in the real world.
Career goals
After college, I want to do marketing for an outdoors company or have my own company related to that!
