Describe your college experience

Transitioning to college was a big adjustment for me because, honestly, I wasn't even sure I wanted to go to college at first. I decided to give the University of Oregon a chance to see if college was something I would enjoy, and I'm so glad I did. It didn't take long for UO to feel like home. Since coming here, I've made amazing friends, gotten involved on campus, and found majors that I'm genuinely passionate about. Looking back, choosing to attend UO was one of the best decisions I've made. My experience has shown me that it's okay not to have everything figured out before starting college—you might be surprised by how much you grow and how quickly a new place can start to feel like home.

Tip for future students

My biggest piece of advice is to put yourself out there and get involved as much as possible. Join clubs, attend campus events, try new activities, and say yes to opportunities—even if they're things you don't think you'll be interested in. You never know what you might end up loving or where you'll meet some of your closest friends. College is the perfect time to step outside of your comfort zone and explore new interests. Some of the best experiences and friendships come from taking chances and trying something new.

Favorite class

My favorite class at the University of Oregon has been Magic in the Middle Ages. It was such a unique course that explored how people in medieval Europe understood magic, religion, folklore, and the supernatural. I loved that it combined history, culture, and storytelling in a way that made every lecture interesting. It completely changed the way I thought about the Middle Ages and showed how beliefs about magic shaped everyday life. If you ever have the chance to take it, I would definitely recommend it!

Career goals

After graduating from the University of Oregon, I hope to attend law school and pursue a career in humanitarian law. I'm passionate about advocating for others and hope to work on issues involving human rights, international law, and social justice. My goal is to use my education to make a meaningful impact by helping individuals and communities facing complex legal and humanitarian challenges.

Ideal way to spend a free night

My ideal way to spend a free night is going out with friends and exploring Eugene. I love trying local restaurants, grabbing dinner somewhere new, and then spending time walking around campus or downtown.

Favorite spot on campus

My favorite spot on campus is the Fishbowl in the EMU. It's one of my favorite places to study, meet up with friends, or just get some work done between classes. During the spring, I also love taking my homework outside and sitting in the sun with friends. There's something about being outside on a nice day that makes studying so much more enjoyable, and it's one of the things I love most about being on campus at the University of Oregon.
