Queer and Neurodivergent UW Geography Student

I’m an incoming junior at the University of Washington, majoring in Geography. I’ve lived in Seattle’s U‑District for ten years, so this campus and community truly feel like home. I’m neurodivergent, queer, and always excited to meet new people. When I’m not studying, you can usually find me enjoying coffee, board games, drag shows, or trivia nights around the neighborhood.

Describe your college experience

I graduated from Bellevue College with AAS degree with a focus in Geography. I will be transferring to UW in fall but I have been going to many UW events and I am very much involved in UW community since I live in U district. I love everything about UW, from the beautiful campus, lots of good food and spots to hang out, and the diversity of the community who embrace all identities and ensure that everyone feels welcome, UW to me really feels like home, especially now that I am officially a Husky student. UW campus is my go to spot for a quick walk or run. My transition is smooth so far, UW helps with everything a new student need to know. UW advisors are also available to help with resources and questions. There is always help available for all UW students.

Tip for future students

Be prepared. Don't be shy. Enjoy the experience.
