Describe your college experience
While daunting at first, the University of Michigan offers an unparalleled opportunity to meet new people, explore your interests, and live the full college experience (not to mention Football and Basketball national championships during my time as a student). I've gotten to explore my interests in business to its fullest extent, through internships and student organizations, as well as make genuine connections with other students, professors, and mentors.
Tip for future students
Use freshman year to do everything you can to explore your interests, meet new people, and think about building your own Michigan experience for the next four years. People on campus are very willing to help, offer you insight, and support you throughout your journey. On campus organizations equip you with the network and training needed to succeed professionally. Find classes you are genuinely interested in and take them with professors you see yourself developing a meaningful connection with.
Favorite class
FIN 444 - Applied Venture Capital: An incredible hands-on experience to understand Venture Capital and apply content from class in real stakes situation. Over the course of half the semester, we cover comprehensive material and expert interviews on investing, which all culminates in a pitch to real venture capital investors. My team and I took home second place that semester winning $2500 in prize money and life long lessons on investing and the due diligence process.
