Describe your college experience

I really love Georgetown University. While I had never stepped foot into it before committing, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the campus is and was blessed by great community here, from my dorm (Darnall 4!) to Christian ministry. Georgetown has truly expanded my worldview, from fantastic classes and many study abroad experiences to much spiritual growth and intercultural interactions. Though there have definitely been obstacles during my time here, I’m grateful that I’ve had an overall enriching experience.

Tip for future students

1. Dare to step out of your comfort zone! (eg. I tried new forms of dance here) 2. Beware of competitive club culture (it can be especially pre-professional and stressful for consulting/investing clubs) 3. Enjoy the Georgetown neighborhood and DC city (eg. I love walking along C&O canal or running to Roosevelt Island) 4. Be smart about housing and course selection, and beware of expensive dorm and meal plan fees (I can provide some extra info…) 5. Make use of Georgetown’s extensive resources (eg. Free overseas courses like Magis Seminars, or research opportunities)

Favorite class

Religious Identity and Pluralism. So insightful and eye-opening on different ways to unpack “religion” and deepen interreligious understanding. I especially appreciated the class environment in Georgetown-Qatar where there were students from all around the world with various religious background.

Career goals

I am on a Singapore government scholarship so I will return to Singapore to work for the civil service for 6 years. Before that though, I would hope to do a Master’s program in China and a gap year with UNICEF in Kenya.
