Charlotte Lacy | Vanderbilt Tour Guide, Greek Life & Student Ambassador
My name is Charlotte Lacy, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to help your family get a better sense of Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt has truly become my home away from home. Outside of class, I love going for runs, listening to live music, hiking, and exploring new places. I can't wait to share my experiences and help you feel at home here, too!

Describe your college experience
My college experience has been amazing, and I feel incredibly lucky that my transition to Vanderbilt was so smooth. From the moment I arrived on move-in day, I felt welcomed by the students who helped my family and me move into my dorm. It was such a great way to start my college experience. While my transition was easy, I also had friends who faced a more challenging adjustment. Over time, though, they found their place, built strong friendships, and now love being at Vanderbilt just as much as I do.
Tip for future students
My biggest tip for future students is to remember that you will be incredibly well taken care of, and everyone is looking to make new friends. Put yourself out there! Ask someone to grab lunch, attend a club meeting, or explore campus with you. Say yes to new opportunities! Vanderbilt has so much to offer, and you'll have an amazing time.
Favorite class
My favorite class was Introduction to American Government. I loved this class because, on the very first day, my professor already knew the names of all sixty students. He always came to class prepared, often brought candy for everyone, and created an environment where students genuinely wanted to learn. He also kept his office door open, whether you needed help with the course or just wanted to have a conversation.
Career goals
My career goals are to teach special education for a few years, then earn my master's and, hopefully, move into the field of education policy!
Ideal way to spend a free night
My ideal night is grabbing dinner at Barcelona Wine Bar with my best friends, then heading out to explore Nashville—whether that's going to a concert, getting dessert, or walking around Broadway
